The slower clock

The speed of building is not the speed of becoming useful.

Working with AI introduces a peculiar sequence of constraints.

First, you run out of tokens. Then you discover that ideas arrive faster than you can judge them. Soon, you can implement things faster than the people around you can understand what has changed.

The software is ready. The world around it is not.

Habits, trust and responsibility move on a slower clock. A working product may still have years of waiting ahead before it finds a place in somebody’s ordinary day.

That waiting belongs in the budget.

Before giving the next idea a go, ask whether you can afford the distance between making it possible and making it familiar.

AI can shorten the build. It cannot promise to shorten the wait.
