A business is not a photograph
A still image cannot tell us which way something is moving.
A photograph of a crowded station tells us very little about the trains.
People may have just arrived. They may have been waiting for hours. The same picture can belong to very different stories.
A business viewed at a single moment can be equally difficult to understand. A good result may follow years of patient work or a fortunate afternoon. A difficult period may signal decline or the discomfort of a necessary change.
The picture matters. It simply needs a before and an after.
I am often more interested in direction than appearance. What is becoming easier? What is becoming harder? Which features of the present are likely to last?
Those questions require time, and more than one frame.
A business continues moving after the photograph has been taken.
