Enough, before more
An addition changes what is already there.
A table can be made longer. The conversation does not necessarily become better.
Growth brings new possibilities, but it also changes the character of what already exists. Distance increases. Familiarity becomes harder to maintain. Things once understood without explanation need to be said aloud.
None of this makes growth undesirable. It makes growth consequential.
The word more can conceal several ambitions. More reach. More resilience. More relevance. Or simply a larger number where a smaller one used to be.
These are not interchangeable outcomes.
Before making something bigger, it is worth being clear about what the addition is meant to improve, and what should remain intact as it happens.
Sometimes the right answer is another chair. Sometimes it is a better conversation among the people already seated.
